Why should we replace car seat foam? Don’t they last forever, like plastic or rubber? If you wouldn’t consider sleeping on a 50 year old mattress then that answers your question!
For the cars that we work with, the age that they are, we complete every job by making new seat foam as per factory spec. Sometimes, we even make an improvement to the factory design in an attempt to make the revamped seats even more comfortable, where possible.
Although it is possible to make seats “look good” with only new skins and no new foam, we prefer restoring these old car seats properly because the cars deserve it and so do you.
In some of the more recent jobs, we found that a lot of seats have seat springs so fatigued (although not broken) that the springs don’t even provide a strong and supportive enough base for the foam and skins. Saggy seats are just that. Fixing the seats and giving them a good solid and springy foundation is what will turn your saggy seats into comfortable seats.
